My dermatologist said if i dont start using any treatment in three yeats, i will have no hair. He suggests a pill $55 a month daily pill with side effect
Doesn't work very well for most people, plus you get those fun side effects.

or to go special clinic in city weekly 12minute treatment with special machine costs $100 amonth no side affects more effective
Completely fraudulent. If this really worked it would be on the front page of every newspaper worldwide. Might as well just get acupuncture or magic scalp cream and be done with it.

The only really effective treatment is surgery, where they do one or both of these:
1. Slice away the center of your scalp, stretch the skin to draw the sides closer together.
2. Slice sections from the side or back of your head, slice them into little chunks, then pop the little chunks of skin & hair onto the top of your head.

I've seen a Discovery/Learning channel program on 2. and it does work, but it costs a lot (well over $5,000).

Right now researchers are working on a variant of 2., where they grow hair cells in a petri dish rather than harvesting them from your scalp, but it's years away from commercial use.

I'm balding, but just letting it happen and putting my money into mutual funds instead of plugs. If I were going to do something I'd pick 2. right now, or wait for the "hair cloning" to become available so they don't have to slice up the back of my head.

For the most part, women don't care. If you're worried about appearance, go to the gym and lift some weights or run. Girls will take a guy who's in shape & has thinning hair over a guy who's fat & has lots of hair.

If you don't care what the ladies think, why do you care?

bah.

I'm not losing hair. I know perfectly well where it is - stuck in the trap in the sink.

My friend's 26 and he's taking propecia (sp?) because he's losing hair, his problem is genetic though so not sure if those pills really do anything. Pays like $300 for a 3 month supply.

I can't believe this took a whole page for someone to realize.

Whole page? I have mine set to 60 posts. Depends on your settings.

If he'd put that $100/month into a Roth IRA at Vanguard (to buy VFINX S&P 500 fund) he could either retire years earlier, or have a lot more money when he does retire.

rogaine doesn't really work, not for most people, and it's so annoying to use over 90% of people stop doing it (so says the few doctors i've asked). propecia usually is only good for keeping the hair you have. hair surgery is expensive and it won't give you back everything you've lost, and they won't touch the bald spot in the back. propecia is your best bet for the next 2-3 years, then the petri dish hair growth (actually, it's stem-cell related) will be ready. but be prepared to spend >$10,000, minimum. probably closer to $20,000.

p.s. i started losing my hair seriously a couple of years ago, at nearly 25 i have the hairline of a man close to twice my age. a full head of hair is one of the least appreciated things a man can have until he loses it.

I'm bald and I'm proud!

The Hair Club for Men is boring as hell. They don't even have a bar.
