Who is getting the better deal? **Updated with Details**

NIB Wii (with the five games) swap for slightly used Xbox360 elite w/hdmi and whatever else comes with it new.

I won't say which side of the deal I'm on, just yet....will edit OP with that tidbit. 🙂

Update:

Details:
The five Wii games are the bowling, golf, etc. that come with it.
Not sure what's in the Wii box...whatever comes standard in the pack.
Both parties are good friends/co-workers.
Xbox comes with receipt from 2 months ago, includes HDMI cable, wireless controller, AC adapter, audio attachment.

Oh, and I currently own the Wii.

Also, gaming thoughts....

I'm not a gamer, per se. I like playing (1-2 times/week) after the kids go to bed, to wind down the day. Enjoyed playing my friend's wii, but scared the novelty will wear off. I just can't really see myself standing in front of the 61" DLP at 10:30 at night playing tennis. I do see myself sitting on the couch at 10:30 with a beer on the table playing some FPS game.

Don't flame, I've already admitted my non-gamer status....what does "and the 360 is not banned" mean?

the 5 games don't happen to be bowling, tennis, golf, baseball, and boxing do they? if so that's not 5 games, thats more like 1 demo disc.

i'd take a 360 over a wii any day.

One has to question if that 360 is banned, or hell, even works. Hope you know this person well.

Yeah. If the 360 works, the person receiving it is getting a much better deal...just get to BB or CC early some Sunday and another Wii for MSRP...

It depends on whether those 5 games are $50/each or just Wii Play, what kind of warranty the 360 has, and what games it comes with.

If the 360 doesn't have a transferrable warranty, you need to figure in a possible $100-150 repair bill if it RRoDs or the $5 DVD-ROM drive starts scratching discs or stops reading them.

I'd never buy a used 360 myself, even Zephyr/Falcon motherboard, just because of the hassle of dealing with MS when it dies and I'm not the original owner.

I have a strange feeling you are receiving the Wii. If that is so, do NOT do it. If you are receiving the 360 Elite, then do it. 😛

doesnt it depend on the games? cause an elite is what, 150 more than the wii. are the 5 games worth 150?

also, it depends on what you play. i would make much more use of the 360 than the wii but if you might like wii games better.

Assuming th 360 works, the 360 is a better deal if the Wii games are Wii Sports. If the Wii games are anything decent that would be the better deal.

yeah if he is getting the 360 it is an excellent deal. Not just for the value of the system but for the games it has.

whoever is geting the 360 wins, assuming it's all legit.

given that, I'll keep my wii. It's more entertaining for me. I'll take a free xbox tho 🙂

Anything is better than a Wii.

Technically the 360 has NO warranty if transferred to another person. So with the 360's failure rate, that means the person who is getting the 360 is getting a HORRIBLE deal.

But Microsoft has been pretty lax with the warranty requirements, so as long as you can get it fixed when it breaks, the person who is getting the 360 is getting a great deal.

And knock off that 5 games crap, this isn't eBay.

I think that depends on who you're asking.

It bugs them so much that people actually like the Wii. It's not my most played console, but it is number 2.

I'm actually starting to like purbeast more than you. You're just a complete jackass.

360 is better deal by far. My 360 gets used all the time, from movies to games. The only time the Wii gets turned on is when my 18 month old is naughty and pushes the button 😀

Depend if the 5 Wii games are actual games or just the bundled Wii sports.

if it is 5 games, then I say person getting the Wii is getting a better deal as long as they are decent games.

Otherwise, person getting the 360 is getting the much better deal. Try to get the receipt with that 360 in case it fails.

This is impossible to determine until we know the following:

1. What games are coming with the Wii.
2. All accessories coming with the Wii (including extra wiimotes etc).
3. All accessories coming with the 360.

Assuming that everything works and the 360 is not banned then knowing the above info should allow us to figure out which deal is better.

As others have already pointed out, Wii Sports is one game, not five.

I am going to start selling Wiis on ebay with Mario Party 8: "Wii with 217 games!!!"

with that updated information.

Getting the 360 is a much better deal. If nothing else, just look at MSRP for both systems.
