And is there a reason why he/she chose the 3 unique combination of keystrokes?

I'm gonna guess because it is difficult to perform on a 101 keyboard and no typing would encouter that combination.

Or am I off base?

click the link, it says who and why.

I did, but require further input and discussion. Link was pretty funny actually - what year was that? Looks like middle 90s.

Apple II's had an outlined apple key and a solid apple key, called "open apple" and "closed apple" respectively.

I invented it when as I passed out and my beer spilled inside my PC.

Somehow that majik keystroke turned my PC off.

I only knew when I looked in the mirror the next morning...clearly Ctrl Alt Del was pressed on my forehead, my PC was covered in beer.

In our weekly poker game I mentioned this to Gates.

The rest was HIStory.

I was hoping someone would link that!

WTF is Bill Gates' problem there? It was a good joke and Gates sat there like an idiot....what a prick.

he looked like he was thinking "note to self have fat guy with moustache killed and replaced by clone"
