Who here will never purchase a GM product?

just wondering, cuz, if you own a boat, and its in the U.S. and a gas powered boat, 90% chance that engine, is a GM block.

I currently own a GM car, but I don't plan to get one when I replace it. I want an economy car and GM's current trio (Ion, G5 and Cobalt) aren't that great compared to the alternatives (Mazda 3, Ford Focus or Honda Civic).

who cares, I will never buy one of their cars. they will be chapter 11 within 3 yrs and you can quote me on that.

I did and the guy told me you were not know in the industry and didnt know what you were talking about. So much for your opinion on GM.

I will never purchase a GM product. I have had too much experience with them to justify a leap of faith now, they haven't gotten it right in the past so why all of a sudden? I do own a powerboat. Inboard V8....and it is a fuel injected 302 Ford engine. I only bought this boat because it DID NOT have any GM parts. The boat is 9 years old now and still runs perfectly with nothing but regular maintenance. My previous boat had a GM engine and it was a nightmare. Constant headache. Everytime I went to the lakehouse the boat would act up and I would spend too much time working on it so I could entertain my guests. Got rid of that POS and now I never let my guests down or make them spend time alone as I trek all over the state trying to find parts.

the only issue with Ford is that they are in worse shape than GM.

Mmmmm. MerCruiser!

While I won't ever buy a GM car (well, not a new one, a 1960 or 1968 'Vette would be bought in a heartbeat) it's not because I don't like them, it's just because I've already decreed that my alliegance is to Ford. 😛

Despite being a Ford man, even I have to admit that GM makes some amazing engines (and transmissions).

And I love MerCruisers. They're dead solid reliable. And that Chevy 4.3 V6 that MerCruiser uses is an excellent engine.

I don't understand your crap grammer but that why I said cars you douchbag. I will not buy a GM product and do not have a boat at this time.

Are you also saying that blocks in outboard engines are gm?
Johnson, Evinrude, Merc, Yamaha?

Maybe you can elaborate on that and show that this wasn't that stupid of a post on a Computer Off topic forum.

I don't mind GM products (crate motors and what have you) because I'll probably never use that type of product anyway. But when it comes to cars, I'll never buy one. Closest I'd ever come would probably be a Saab or something like that.

Now if I were in the market for a light truck or HD truck, I'd look at Chevy/GMC. But I'm not.

That's because the 4.3 is just a small block with 2 cylinders chopped off.

Your GM martyr shtick is getting kind of old.
End of thread. I think it's way beyond "getting" old.

MIKEMIKE is another kid who passes judgement on vehicles based on reviews he reads on the internet, while not even clocking near enough miles on any car or having a history of ownership of enough vehicles to criticize any make of car effectively.

Have you never been to the automotive forums out there? Par for the course. 😛

Sadly I think I agree.

I'll probably get a Mazda or Honda for my next purchase and all my cars (5) up to this point have been American.

Mazda is owned by Ford and uses GM tires with AC/Delco lights!!

HAHA!! America PWNS JOO!

My local boat mechanic is a "good 'ole boy" who says "are you sure you wanna do that? it's gunna cost ya big money!"
To that I reply, "why, how much?"
Him: "probably almost $100!"

There's a huge difference between what you get from GM at a dealership and what you get down at the marina

I'll take the toothless, honest good'ole boy down at the marina over GM service any day.

Oh, and we also know that an engine block == a whole car. It's not like GM makes the hull, the electronics, the I/O, the trimtabs or anything else on your boat...
