I just replaced MS Optical Intellimouse USB with Logitech Trackman Marble+ on my corporate workstation. It saves me loads of desk-space and it fits my had better. Who else uses trackball instead of mouse?

I have for a couple years. Always been a thumb operated one though, the finger ones feel too weird. It only took a few days to adjust a little and then a couple weeks to get real good with. Now I hate using a mouse. Ya gotta move your hand all over and stuff, when a trackball you can just move your thumb (hah lazy!).

And also I use mouse2 as +moveforward. Hah! :D

The one I'm using is thumb-operated. Feels really good, but it does take some time to get used to the thing.

i find a trackball to be better for graphics and stuff when your hand is so incredibly cramped from your carpal tunnel that you can't move it anymore, that you have to lift it off of the mouse to let it rest. it don't mess up the position of the cursor. dang, i need sleep. i can't write

When I used my laptop exclusively I used a logitech trackball (thumb kind) and loved it. Since I'm back mostly to desktop i use a mouse now.

Have used a marble for years. Used to be a Logitech one, but it and I had a misunderstanding a few nights back, now I use a Microsoft optical trackball. Think I like the microsoft one better, though my cat is really enjoying batting the remaining peices of the logitech one around the house........

I use trackballs on all 5 systems here at home, have for several years now. The first ones weren't so great, but, the new ones are fantastic and save lots of room as well as being incredibly fast & accurate. I'd never go back to a "mouse" for any reason!;)

I prefer them but they are too inconvenient on my hand so I use intellimouse explorer instead.

I've got a Kensington Orbit trackball that I've been using for the past two or three years as my main mouse. I love the thing, especially because it requires very little
desk space on my already crowded desk at college. People who come into my room look at my Microsoft Natural Elite (split ergonomic) keyboard and my trackball
and wonder how in the world I ever get any work done. ;) But I've just gotten so used to them that I'd probably never go back to a "standard" keyboard/mouse.

I used the Logitech Trackman Marble+ for a while and I just couldn't get the hang of it. My thumb would just get too tired, and when it came down to doing some photo editing, and other tasts that required drag and drop, it was just a pain to work with.

Since then I picked up a Microsoft intellimouse Explorer 3.0. Definite improvement! Though, I believe that my Logitech Optical Mouse feels sturdier, and fits the hand a bit better, but I decided to get a mouse touted as being one of the best optical mice.

I can understand using a trackball for everything but games, how do you play games, especially FPS ones, with a trackball?

I use a Kensington Orbit trackball... finger one... not thumb ball..

i use the thumb click for the fire, the pinkie click for alt-fire... and use the trackball to control the crosshairs (mouselook on) :)
I move using the arrow keys.... works fine... i kick some nice boo-tay in fps games :)

I too have a Logitech trackman marble+. It is great in everything, especially games, you just need to adjust the sensitivity.
