I have to say that Windows 2000 is the most stable WINDOWS platform to date. It is a rock solid OS FROM MICROSOFT. For gaming, if you don't put enough RAM, like 256MB or more, your system will suffer. The more RAM you can throw at it, the better it will handle.
And to say that DOS is the most stable MS OS is a freaking joke. With DOS, it will just lock up. At least with Windows 9x or NT/2000, you could stop the application or end the TASK. Yes, I know. In Windows 9x/ME it could bring the whole system down also. But try multitaking in DOS. Can't can you? Didn't think so.
No BSOD in DOS? I wonder why? There wasn't any error trapping capability within DOS to display that sort of screen message. At least with UNIX/Linux/Windows, it will give you something.
