Those side effects sound like the same side effects for 80% of the meds out there.



I did notice in the last week that the top of my head has a balding spot that wasn't there before though .. It happens to be located right where the band of my new (and expensive) headphones rest (and I had been wearing them for probably 4-5 hours a day). Consequently I won't be using them for a couple weeks, and I'll see what happens from there.

I doubt if the band from the headphones are having any effect. Wear your headphones - and enjoy them.
 
I've been thinking about taking proscar/propecia for quite a while now but I'm a chicken sh*&.

Knowing me I will wait until I'm completely bald and then I'll take them like they're going out of style--which is too late because I read that people do the best on this medicine if they start early.

Hmmmm, so basically it has the same side effects as large quatnities of beer, only you dont get the buzz.
 
I heard Tom Cruise say (on Letterman) that he wore a wig in the movie Collateral; I never would have guessed that.
Maybe a wig is an option.

If you're a black guy, chances are you will look cool with a shaved head. If you're a white guy, there is a huge chance you will look a dorky bald guy who shaved his head. i.e. not cool.

Just look at any online photo (or go to the movie) of Tom C. in the movie Collateral. He is wearing a gray wig throughout the movie.

Many feel that a decreased perception of verility due to alopecia makes hair very useful indeed.

I don't know, prolly no worse than a white person. But it depends what your head is shaped like too. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen prematurely balding asians. Maybe the soy thing is true...

Yeah, I can't get myself to shave it all off either. I kinda wished I would've tried whatever remedies are out there but then again, some of 'em are just trying to take advantage of the desperation/fear. Nothing that I know works well for baldness.
 
I shaved mine and grew a goatee.


Eventually I'll shave that off.


Then hopefully one day I can look like my idol, Vic Mackey.
 
there was a shampoo that my friends mother was given for when she had kemo for breast cancer that was supposed to help restore hair, her husband used it and he was growing hair back where he originally bald. i am not sure if it is prescription or not, but it really seemed to work, and was just a shampoo.
