I use one at work, but then, my PC was running NT up until last October or so. Haven't bothered to swap it for an optical yet.

At home, I've been using an Intellimouse Explorer for like 3 years now.

You mean you don't enjoy scraping the gunk of the little rollers every week or so??

Never had an optical mouse. Ball mice do everything I need perfectly. So I never forked over the cash.

My optical experience is limited to my parents mouse. It doesn't work very well - but I assume that it is just one bad mouse (or bad surface) and I have nothing against optical mice.

Both at work as well as at home I got a logitech optical mouse. I can always play with my own balls if I miss a ball mouse!

I don't care if it has a ball or not as long as it's wireless.

Why would you need to clean the rollers once a week? Do you throw up on your pad regularly? I haven't cleaned the ball or the rollers on any of my ball mice in more than a year.

Well until May 31st, I was an extremely poor student. There wasn't $19.95 left for anything like that - especially when I had alternatives that work perfectly. That $19.95 is 4 full meals eating out with my wife (feeding both of us)! I'm a rossman wannabe.

Ew! Perv!

That's what i thought, so instead of a mouse with a ball you have a mouse that smells like a set of balls?

I have two Logitech MX500s and they pale in comparison to the ball mice I've had in the past.
They are tinkerbell like and cheaply made, after awhile they get inaccurate and anything can throw them through a loop...

I'm optical everywhere now, but I did like my wireless logitech ball mouse better for gaming
