Who here still plays Battlefield 2?

I had been playing Battelfield 2 before but stop playing it for over 2 year now, I sold the game and moved on. But since games like Battlefield: Bad Company, for the consoles came out, I remembered the good old times when I was in a clan on Battlefield 2 and now I feel like playing the game all over again

Since its pretty much an old game now, anyone here in AT still play Battlefield 2? Is it still worth getting again? *feeling alot of the players have stopped playing it*

Please help me decide, before I go to the local PC gaming store:laugh: and find out after installing it again no one is no longer online!

I still play it, from time to time, mostly on Dragon Valley, Fushe Pass and that one map I can't remember its name that was added a few months ago, I think it's a map from one of the official expansions, for the regular BF2, lots of vehicles in there and the map is freakin' huge. Well... talking about it... I think I'm gonna go play it some...

It's the only game that I've stuck with all these years. Been playing since '06 and there hasn't really been anything to challenge it all these years. I have Bad Company for 360, and Battlefield 3 due out later this year will use the same Frost Bite Engine, which is the best Graphics Engine out currently IMO.

Anyway, I still play it from time to time with my buddies if their up for it.

No widescreen still is a major PITA. Other than that it's a decent game still. I haven't played in over a year though.

Widescreen works, you just have to type your resolution in the game shortcut.

I still play Battlefield 2, no new game has topped it, it's still the biggest map, the most players in a server and the most variety of combat style.

I play it daily. There's just way too many things to master.

I'm finished being an infantry and squads. That took about 800 hours over 2 years. I've got all gold for all my kits except for Engineer which I'm finishing up.

Now all I do is fly jets. I especially love F35B and take on a J10. This game was never supposed to be equal. It's about your weapon strength vs your opponent weapon weakness. You have to study your kits and vehicles capabilities. That's why it makes it so fun.

I too play it daily.

Special Forces, or original BF2. Either one, I play infantry only type servers. Lots of fun and still many active players and servers.
I like the {DAM} servers. Its mainly westcoast and I get great ping there. They have mainly infantry only servers and 1 map servers, but its good action.

Great game and its never going to get old.

Well, why not? To each their own tastes. There's people out there like me who didn't liked H-L 2 and who thought that UT3 is very good after all.

I agree. I don't think there's a game that is better than Battlefield 2. Back in 1999 it was Unreal Tournament. Now it's been Dice's BF games far as online First Person Shooters go.

It takes patience. Sneak up on them or wait them at a spawn point and keep stabbing them. ;P

At first, I wasn't a big fan of this map. I hated how everytime I tried getting into a chopper, I was immediately shot down from AA or mounted AAs...

Then I started playing the Infantry only on Ghost Town. wow, totally different. However, recently I've been playing in sWc server for ghost town and its been kick ass ever since. Its such a unique map. It has all vehicles in such a close proximity which can suck or be cool, however you see it. There are so many little areas you can dominate in. Personally, I like going AT and climbing all over roof tops and taking out APCs, Tanks or even choppers with AT.

Its huge a sweet map. gg

Just got the BF2 Complete Collection free from EA and am installing as I type! BF2 probably has been more fun than any other game at LAN parties for me.

Im INF only, AA and the tanks do my head in....its a game of chance!

There's some good ass pilots in EAUK wake server. Some of these guys will pwn good J10 pilots with F35.

Just check out their jet kill die ratio. Look at 01adler's SPM. That guy basically pwns everyone with a jet and gets like 60-100 kills a game and doesn't die.

I got legendmoiza once but I was on a J10 and he was on a F35B. I'm getting better but they could easily take me down if I wasn't cautious.
