guitar. it's cheap, fun, and very convenient. I have it stands next to my desk so that I can pick a note or two when I'm bored.

In middle and high school I played French Horn, and filled in the sax section, every so often, on soprano or baritone (sp?) sax.

Trumpet - 9 Years
Guitar - 10 Years(but i still kinda suck 🙂)

I can play a little of the following Piano, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba, French Horn, and drums.

I can play the flute!! 🙂🙂

It's not really that hard to learn how to play the flute. It's just hard to hold. 🙂

Haha, for some reason that amused me.

I currently have a Fender Deluxe Strat, mid-80's Jap make with crappy electronics, plus a Crate 60 watt amp and a few pedals. I've only dabbled in guitar here and there for about 13 years, not seriously. I've forgotten more than I remember.

I once owned a 10-piece chrome Ludwig Rocker II drum set for about four years. I was pretty serious about drums during that time and was rather good when I sold them 12 years ago. I had the ocassion to try my hand at drums several months ago after having not picked-up a drum stick in over 10 years. Its not like riding a bike, I'm crappy all over again! 😛

I played saxophone for about 7 years, but now my YTS-62 Tenor Sax just sits here all lonely. Just haven't had time to pick it up and play it.

<-- piano and guitar. Piano for about 7 years but I've stopped playing. Guitar on and off for about 9 years now.

I personally think the piano is the best instrument to learn music on, mostly because it is very easy to visualize the notes. I find that I have a better understanding of music theory from playing piano. Then again, I took theory exams and I had a really good teacher so...

I'll bet you can get a cheapo keyboard for a few hundred bucks, and it won't be that big. The guitar is "cool", but I don't think it is a very good learning instrument. It encourages you NOT to learn because it is so easy to play songs without knowing wtf you're doing.

Do you like this guitar? I've read that the jap version strats from the 80s are every bit as good (better in some cases) as their american counterparts, but at like half the price.

oh yeah, check out my band (click link below). 😀

I play the piano. I am getting on a record deal with This guy (geocities link). I am not that good at playing with my hands, but it's the ideas that count. I learned hazuki style, and when I enter stuff into my computer I have a time table and such, so it comes down to ideas, not practice. All I need now is to learn to mix with sequencers and mixers.

started out with the accordian, went to piano, played keyboards/vocals in Rock N Roll bands from 9th grade through college. Not much playing the last few years, mostly singing. Did Barber of Seville with the Columbus Opera (in the chorus), some light opera (Gilbert & Sullivan) with the Victoria Light Opera company, now known as the Columbus Light Opera company. Would have liked to stayed involved with those, but new baby needed lots of attention, so did the practice and performance schedules, so I went with the family stuff. 😀

Now I just sing with the church choir. Friends have tried talking me into auditioning for the Columbus Symphony Chorus, but it demands a lot of time. Maybe after the daughter graduates in 4 years. 🙂

The one instrument I would love to have the time to learn to play is the Bass. 😀

Trumpet...maybe 5-6 years now, but I didn't play for 1 1/2 years..😱

Started playing again, and I wish I'd never stopped. I still need to practice more, though..working on the Carnival of Venice in the Arbans' Book - it's coming along..somewhat.. 😛

Ive played the trumpet since I was about 8, though not much in the past 5 or so years.

Ive been playing bass seriously for two months. Ive had my bass for a little over a year though.
