Who here owns a North Face jacket/parka?

I need a new winter jacket. My nine year-old Columbia Titanium parka is on its way out. I've got a North Face Pumori fleece jacket and I'm thinking of buying a TNF shell (maybe even an insulated model). A few questions:

1.) What model do you wear?
2.) Does it keep you warm?
3.) Could I zip my fleece into just about any jacket?

I live in Southern Ontario and we usually get pretty cold and windy winters.

1. Pumori fleece & Varius Guide shell.
2. Extremely.
3. Not all the shells are zip-in compatible, IIRC.

Edited for correctness.

Depends on what you use it for... I am not a big fan of TNF, and prefer Marmot, Patagonia or Mountain Hardware to TNF... but I live and work in a fairly extreme environment, so my standards are a little higher than your typical user... Another brand to check out is Arcteryx, but don't have any first hand experience with them...

The North Face's zip-in system is featured on many of our shell jackets. Layering (by adding or removing garments to control temperature) is the most effective way to stay comfortable in a range of weather conditions and activities. Fast and easy layering is taken to new levels with our zip-in technology.
Many of our jackets and vests zip into each other to create a one-piece insulated outer layer. Simply look for the zip-in compatible icon.

Zip-in one of our fleece or insulated styles into one of our shell jackets to create a one-piece insulated outer layer - you pick the pieces to fit the conditions. Compatible zipper lengths match up the outer shell with the insulating layer. Jacket cuffs are secured together with a loop and snap closure system to prevent shifting and twisting.

I don't know about the other jackets, but as far as North Face is concerned you can't really go wrong. There's a lifetime warrenty on all their stuff, and I'm already on my 2nd free jacket from them. Good investment.

I got two jackets from them but these jackets aren't on the Northface website. Obviously, they must be more than a year old. I absolutely love them; they are very comfortable and it keeps me extremely warm.

I've had my NOrth Face Mountain Light jacket with zip-in Denali fleece for almost 10 years now. This along with my Western Mountaineering sleeping bag has kept me warm during all my camping trips

Columbia Titanium here- so no.

I like Columbia and North Face has been appealing to the "G's " so I wouldn't go for North Face.
