Some say it reeks like dried up squid, or that it smells like a girl's unwashed... nvm.

All we know is they're GOOOOODDD, to me; I love to toast the squid over open flame and shred them, dip them in some chili sauce and nom nom nom... I guess like some other Asian food, it's an acquired taste. My dad brought some back from his Vietnam trip, and they're as fresh as they day they're dried.

Hold on, nom nom nom nom nom....
 
I lived there for almost a year and never tried these and it is what I most regret. They were everywhere. It wasn't that I was disgusted I just never thought of buying some, and half the time they are obviously sitting there all day in the 100 degree humidity so it wasn't exactly inviting.
 
I buy the jane jane (i think that is the brand) of dried squid in the Asian shops. Never tried making it myself. I just finished a bag the other day.
 
Dried squid and fish are Asian beef jerky. Lightly toasting it on an stove or a grill is the best but you can microwave it if you're lazy.
 
haven't had dried squid in years (probably around 15 years i think) used to love the stuff. i may go to the nearest ranch99 to pick some up.

The squids are processed, sun dried and are flatten (not yet cooked). You're supposed to toast them before consumption, some do them over burning wood coal, some are forced to do that over fire. They're very aromatic once toasted properly, well that's all depends on what you think is aromatic. I also like durian so that may skew things up a bit.

I frequently use dried squid as an ingredient in my potions. It is a truly magnificent item. Prior to using dried squid, I was forced to use rabbit eyes, which just don't have the same oomph to it. The dried squid actually changed the properties of the potion and turned it from blue to red. The effects were amazing.

It's actually pretty good with beer, or alcoholic beverages of your choice. The only gripe I have is that after a while, your jaws start to ache from chewing too much.
 
Fuck no. Usually asian people like it. It doesn't make me puke but the taste is really unpleasant for me.
