What does Venice offer new? Whats the performace advantage, 3-5%? Whats the cost increase?

ok: officially supports four ddr400 memory modules, runs cooler(??), under 7% perforamce boost from newcastle (most apps in the 1-3% range). i'm not convinced that it's worth it to buy a Venice over a Winchester right now. they say maybe support for higher clock speeds, but thats not right now. can i get some price comparisons?

I am also about to buy a new rig, I was wondering if price drops on the other AMD 64 are to be expected, and when is the best time to take advantage. Also Melchior could you explain where "we" can get fx-55 at for $150?

dual core gonna do absolutely NOTHING for gaming performance, but it may allow you keep running background stuff while gaming.

Here's another article on Venice, again with terrific overclocking results (sorry for spoiling the surprise):

I was thinking about it. They use less wattage than the newcastles. PCPER reviewed on and got a 40% overclock on it, 2.8ghz. Tempting...
