Who here is from Atlanta?

My company is flying me out to Atlanta for a week of SAP training and I figured that I'd see who all was from the area. I seem to remember that Fausto was in that area, and a few others, but since Fausto's claim to fame is assless chaps I'm not sure I want to meet him. 😛

Yes, agreed. Where is your training? "Atlanta" has about a 70 mile diameter. Work inside the perimeter at 6:30. Live outside at 2 o'clock (40 miles away).

That's near the King and Queen 🙂

I used to work in the Queen building. Pretty nice area. There's a Marta station not to far away that can take you to Buckhead and downtown Atlanta for your night's out.

Beware the VERY aggressive pan-handlers/beggars. some don't take "no" or being ignored as an answer.

He shouldn't have them in that area. The panhandlers are more in the Peachtree Center area. They seem to dissipate once you pass North Avenue.

I agree that they are very aggressive though. I've never encountered such aggressiveness in fact. I've had several follow me for a few blocks, try to follow me into my hotel/cab, etc. Not a comfortable feeling.

Yeah, there aren't very many if any panhandlers over there in the Perimeter Mall/King and Queen building area. Once you head to downtown, West End and on the east side of the perimeter you'll see panhandlers.

Anyone interested in getting together for an evening, suggest one of the evenings and we'll find something to do.

That is right by where I live. I should be available that week when you are here so let me know when and where and I'll join in the fun.

guys, take him to pink pony, cheetahs, gold club, and masters

if that doesn't work out, try 14th street.

hell even starship if he doesn't want to go out...

if no one will take you up, google eros atlanta 😉 😛

other than the clubs, atlanta really doesn't have much to offer...unless you like to golf...

this used to be a trade show capitol, but after 9/11, that business has really died.

I'm currently at Fort Benning (about an hour and a half south) doing some training. It is random whether I get the weekend off or not (last weekend I didn't, and didn't know till Friday). But if you have a get together shoot me a PM and I'll see if I can make it.

Damn man, that really sells it short. How about the museums, acquarium, symphony, Fox Theater, all the incredible restaurants, etc.?

What more is there to do in any town? Can't judge a town by its clubs.

ok, I stand corrected....yes, the aquarium IS AMAZING!

if you do come down here, definitely check it out! it's the 8th wonder of the world 😛 really!

I love going down there and watch the tofu shark swim...it is the most amazing specimen I've ever seen gliding through the water!

thanks! you are right this city has a ton to offer past it's clubs (which are fun, check out tongue & groove). the aquarium is top notch, the fox is neat if you like that kinda thing. lots of music and concerts. great local music scene (athens wha?). tons of food. past that, go to stone mountain (tho i admit i haven't been in awhile), six flags. something. there's so much to do in and around the city.

the trade shows didn't leave because of 9/11. e3 and comdex both left before that mess happened. i guess maybe some of the lesser ones left? i dunno. i do miss having e3 here, what a circus.

last falcons game i went to they were outside the dome. and being overly obnoxious and loud. which was whatever, but what really annoyed me was the fact that the police walking around didn't chase them off when they were obviously being told no.
