Has the antenna of you phone been broken? I've had my phone for less than a year and it had been broken for four times. It's not abuse or anything. I would put the phone in my pocket and the next time I take it out, the antenna would break off. Now Verizon want to charge me for replacing the antenna :| ANyone here have the same experience? Did you get it fixed for free?

What I am pissed about is that I had the phone for less than a year and I also got their total equipment insurance package. Now they tell me that the antenna isn't covered and I would need to pay $50 bucks if I want to get another phone.

If the phone's one year warranty is up, then they need to charge you for the antenna (Motorola paid the other times.)

Ask for a V60i antenna. They're slightly less fragile. Mine's only been broken once. I walked right in and right back out with a new antenna in under 5 minutes, no charge.

EDIT: I see that you've had the phone less than a year. Call CS and ask why they didn't help you, since the phone is still under warranty (I think, check on that first). If they agree to give you a new antenna, they will note your account, and the guys in the store should give you a new one.

For a lost or stolen phone, you provide them with a copy of a police report in lieu of the phone.

Yes, you would. The $3.99/mo equipment coverage is actually a 3rd party insurance policy. $50 is the deductible. If you made a claim, they would most likely send you a refurbished V60i (the refurbs. generally look and work like brand new phones).

You need to try the warranty angle with a CSR over the phone, and get a new antenna for free.

To prevent the antenna from breaking in the future, don't carry the phone in your pocket, and don't use the Motorola holster. Instead, buy one of those $5 swivel clips, and attach the swivel button on the bottom of the battery cover, so that the phone swings upside down. That makes the antenna much less vulnerable to pressure and damage.
