I'm going to repeat this because it is worth repeating.
Here's my recipe for the best vodka martini ever:
Fill shaker with ice
Pour in Grey Goose
Cover and shake until your hand is frozen to the side of the shaker
Strain immediately into a cocktail glass
Enjoy!
Edit-If you absolutely must have an olive in your martini rinse it under cold water before you put it in your martini. If you absolutely must have vermouth in your martini, use a spritzer and just add a fine mist of vermouth to the shaker before you add the vodka.

I heard it's top of the class when it comes to vodka, I'm going to try it next time I get a drink
I had a couple Grey Goose martinis over the weekend with my friends.
It is the best. There is no other.

i once read that if you run cheap ass (mccormick) vodka through a charcoal filter (britta) 4 or 5 times, you can make it as good as kettle one or better. Anyone tried this or is it just an urban myth? i believe they said they use the same kind of filters when bottling the expensive stuff. sounds like BS but it would be interesting to find out.

Vodka + dry vermouth + olive juice = dirty martini.
It's the solive juice that makes it dirty, obviously.

NONONONONO!!!! Never shake a Martini!! I don't care what Bond says. It melts ice into the drink, and (more of a problem with gin than vodka) it aerates the liquor. This does the same thing to it as letting wine breathe - it gets rid of the tang. But with a Martini, the tang should be so subtle anyway that you can't afford to lose any of it.
Shaking is wrong unless you're at a urinal.
If you need it that cold, keep the bottle in the bloody freezer packed in bags of ice.

I thought it was without vermouth. Just olive juice and vodka. Thats how I make em and order them.
