Who here has their own hardware review site? or info on anything about them?

please im me @ pball4evr on aim if you could i have a few questions about it. i would like to open my own site and was wondering how to go about it exactly

Do you already have a domain registered?

What about webhosting (what's your monthly budget)?

I'd recommend some sort of PHP news setup initially.

i dont currently have w awebsite registered, but i have an idea (no i wont tell you)

i was looking to host using PAIR.com for hosting, start off with a smaller plan for under 100 a month
and if i get bigger just upgrade it

how would i get companies to support me? should i email them telling them my plans and wondering if they would support me or what?

Damn $100/mo?

Unless you plan on using 100GB or more of bandwidth I'd cut your webhosting budget way down to around $40/mo.

How much webspace and bandwidth do you think you'll need?

yeah i am looking at their prices and plans and am loking now at the ones under 50

do u have aim? as i think it would be a bit faster

It would probably just be better to go with someplace like Dixiesys, and start with the lowest plan, and upgrade if you go over. That's what I've been doing with my store, cause it allows me to pay for only what I need.

Give up on the idea.

There are so many hardware review sites out there already that you stand almost zero chance of gaining yourself any credibility.

Since you're asking this question, you're already admitting you don't know how to do this. Take a look at anandtech.com. Think you can compete with that?

no i know how to do this, i was just trying to find out some other peoples perspective and what they did to start out

no i dont think i can compete with ANAND, but he has had this site for quite some time 3+ years in fact!

but in a few years, i may be able to compete with him. i mean we all start somewhere and small can become big if run correctly

We just got back from CostCo, had to buy some Kirkland detergent, planters peanuts, caysadeuasuasuas, and special K snack bars.

Hit me up on AIM MelloRoss
