Who here has seen the Fiery Furnaces live?

Just curious as I saw one of the best shows all year at this little venue with Man Man headlining.

I like them, but not sure if it is worth the $12 to see them live. It is in a couple months.

BTW: It was totally worth the $8 to see Man Man, they are showmen to the core, and had one of the best concerts I have seen all year, the small venue only helped.

To the haters, keep listening to your pop radio classics and kindly keep negative attitude out of this thread

I have a couple of their albums; but I've never seen them live. I like "EP"; but I'm not entirely sold on "rehearsing my Choir".

Yeah, some of their stuff is hard to get into. I'm a big fan of Gallowsbird Bark, and Blueberry Boat, but Bitter Tea is a bit much for me. I'm just curious as I never expected this first band(Man Man) to be so good live as they play in a similar eclectic style (though it is oft compared to Tom Waits, Captain Beefheart and Frank Zappa). However it was about 500% better than I expected...

I have a couple Fiery Furnaces albums and have been meaning to get Matthew Friedberger's new solo album as well. I listened to Blueberry Boat through once but didn't really have the patience for it. Right now I'm too busy with the new ones from The Mountain Goats and The Album Leaf too listen to much else 🙂

I like their experimental sound. My friend saw them in Colorado 4 months ago and enjoyed the concert. He's a picky bastard too. They altered many songs and played rock versions onstage.
