agreed. standing right at the base of one is odd. soo much bigger than it seems in the movies. sphinx seemed smaller though, for some reason

great wall of china is awesome to go walking on for a few hours. good calf workout :eek:

How much useable office/retail space do the pyramids have? None? Oh, well then I guess it's not really comparable to a skyscraper. It's a monument. Now, you could ask whether the Washington Monument or the Statue of Liberty will still be around in 4,000 years, and, no, probably not. But how about Mt. Rushmore? Seems that things carved into mountains can last a while (as MotionMan's picture of Petra demonstrates).

Yeah, I'm immortalized in front of dozens of NYC landmarks in a Late Show t-shirt. It's slightly embarassing.
