I just started working again after 15 months of doing pretty much nothing but drinking beer and golfing. 😀
Why get a job with that lifestyle?:Q

I came to the realization that unless I got hit by a bus (or eaten by a shark) before the end of the year I was going to outlive my retirement. 😉

You moved to Hawaii with no job, no apparent intention to get a job, and only enough money to live for two years? Hippie?

I went three months without a job right after my son was born. Talk about stress! I was literally up to the point where I would start collecting unemployment benefits before I found another job.

is there something wrong with collecting unemployment?

Nah... Mercedes drivin', golfin', beer swillin' yuppie. I don't worry about finding a job. The place I decided to settle down at chased me for six months before I said yes. I had a couple of other outfits that would periodically call me to see if my vacation was over yet. I don't worry too much about finding work. It usually finds me.

Well, I guess it's been about 2 years. Lots of fun and lots of free time with my daughter. I might get back to work this fall, who knows, but im enjoying the time off. Up till this free time I don't think i ever went more than a couple of days with out some kind of work since I was 14. I used to be the "I am what i do" kind of guy. This break pretty much changed my whole outlook on working. It's something I will have to do eventually but im in no hurry for now.

Don't you call be lazy foo... I tried, then I gave up😉. Been unemployed since last september cause of school. Officially unemployed for about one monh since I got my bachelor.

I would go nuts without a job... and I'm a full time student. The first week of freshman year I was so bored at times. All people were doing were playing video games and so on. I applied to several places on campus, got the first two jobs I interviewed for and I've been working 25 hours a week while in school, about 40 during the summer.

I still feel like I have too much time on my hands during school with working 25 hours a week, 14-18 credits a semester and a girlfriend. I'm also involved in a few clubs.

The real question is: what's your major?

I'm a Biochemistry Major entering my junior year, and I start as as RA this coming fall. My job pretty much allows me to study during, but I'm still scared how I'm going to manage myself.

Congrats and welcome back to the real world!

I was day/swing trader for around 5 years. I don't know if I would call trading stocks and options from home work. I took another year off after I sold my restaurant to relax and come up with another business plan/idea. All my time off have been voluntary.

1 and a half months.
I'm an electronics technician so I guess finding work is relatively easy for me.
I dont always get paid well, but there are plenty of jobs.
