I don't remember reading the actual thread but i do remember people saying that they "wanted to go out MacBaine style". For his 10K post he went on a rant or something & got banned.

Loke got banned for hacking into the Moderator section. If i remember right he claimed he was trying to bring attention to a flaw in the forum software.

AT wiki had a banned user section.
Didn't they used to list banned users here in one of the Forum Issues sections?

On a semi-related note, does anyone know how to convert an old thread link so it's usable with this forum software?

I locked myself out of my own username once. I can't imagine trying to track more than one.

I was perma-banned way back in the day (ATI vs nVidia GPU wars). I applied for, and was granted, re-instatement years later. I never have, and never will, create another account just to re-join a forum I'm banned from.

So in some cases a perma-banned isn't truly final, but the mods take it on a case by case basis on whether to unlock your account if you ask nicely enough.

there have been many, and I don't recall the usernames. One guy was a helicopter pilot ( supposedly) who started out in OT then started ripping off people in FS/FT.
Lots of trolls and spammers are shown the door right away.

you are much more patient than me... once in Grade 6 the teacher had to go to the office to pick up some papers. She left me in charge. Five min later when she is back there were already a few kids crying... she never put me in charge ever again.

The forum doesn't show (mods/admins) as banned.
However someone (you know who you are!) has set something called frustration options where it makes a user attempt to sign in or use forum function so slow that they give up or the browser times out.
