after much thinking about it, I think I should upgrade from a 2500+ to a 3000+. no, I won't overclock. said that in another topic. I get frames as low as 20, and 40 on average with my videocard, and my cpu seems to be the culprit. mostly everyone I know says that their geforce 6800 runs great with a 3000+ (64-bit or 32-bit, I have no idea). so can someone give me some reports? and I also ask if you are doing it at 1024x768, high detail, reflect all, some aa/medium af.

thank you!

More than likely, they are referring to A64s, as avalon and i are the only people with mobile bartons that i can think of off the top of my head, i'm sure theres a few more around here. That said, a 3000+ A64 will be leaps and bounds faster than a 3000+ barton, or "Sempron" i guess they are now called...due to the...well, several things, most prominant being the FSB, or HTT.

if you don't want to go to 64bit, though i would suggest that, than get a 3000+ and at least OC it to 2ghz, which you can do with stock cooling and voltage. My 6800nu runs great on my "32 bit," but i've got the snot OCed out of it.
