Compaq Aero 2110/Pocket PC

I use mine for my contact list, taking notes and making voice messages, connecting to the Internet with my 56k CF modem, viewing AvantGo channels, and as an MP3 player.

I bought mine from a British dude out in California for $200 brand new. He already had a Palm V and someone gave him the Compaq (16bit color screen). It retails for $400+ :p

Since then, I have bought the Microsoft/Compaq PocketPC OS upgrade (incudes 24MB RAM) for $99 and I bought the modem for $99. So I've paid $400 altogether--the price I should have paid for the PDA alone ;)

you guys w/ palm pilots.. it seems inconvienent(sp?) to take notes because there is no keyboard. Are you really good at just punching in letters one by one, or do you mainly use em for holding relevant info for yourself?

PDA's are the future, I´m just waiting fora PDA that is bigger, A4 sized with color screen about 1-2cm thick. Well maybe I´m not going to wait that long.

Anyone know when those webpads from cyrix are comming?

I primarily use my Casio E-11 for synching contact infor between my work and home computers. The battery mega-drainage that early WinCE devices faced has kept me from using it more. I have rechargeable batteries, but still.

I saw one of these at Best Buy today. Man, it was huge!! Granted, this is the firt iteration of a real PDA and a cell phone. Thus, the reviews haven't been favorable. Maybe with a few more enhancements, something like this will be the must-have item. WHile I'm partialy to WinCE at the moment, I'd jump to Palm if these take off in that direction.

You should see AnandTech on my cellphone:) And I only paid $50 for the Qualcomm 2760...and that's Canadian:) Anyhow, I have a Palm IIIxe and use it for scheduling, e-mail, AvantGo, simple games, e-books, and hopefully for taking notes next semester once I get a keyboard for it. I've also used my Palm as a remote for my TV, a mirror, a RPN calculator, a telnet client to telnet to my linux box, a VNC client to "run" Windows 2000 from my Palm, and some other useless things.

EDIT: I forgot to mention I've also used my Palm for overclocking, getting the standard Motorola Dragonball EZ processor from its standard 16MHz up to 33MHz and no crashes:)
