Who here has a firestone tire? Where you on the recall list?

Parents, on new 2000 mini-van. Not the recalled ones but still it makes you wonder. I actually saw a couple of Explorers today with the Wilderness AT tires. That is cracked.

i have a copule firestone tires...its on a car though...and i've had them for a long time....so im not worried

Yep, got the bad ones on my 98 Explorer XLT. We'll probably just get new tires and have Firestone reimburse us...the wait on the recall list is too long.

i think it's only the 15 inch versions. i've seen several explorers with those recalled tires, but they're 16s.

I had them on my '97 Ford Ranger 4x4. I already replaced them back in June because one blew out (strangely). I'm apparently going to be reimbursed by Firestone according to my buddy who works for them.
They were 235/75/15 size.

Its bad to see this happen. Firestone is near dead now pretty much. Nobody is going to want to buy tires from a company that's tires causes all these killings and such.

And I even read (I think) that in some places (different country than the US I think), CRIMINAL legal action is a possibility. Could you believe if people were put in jail for this?

My boss has a 98 explorer sport and the back tire is starting peel up real bad. The firestone people said that the tires are not part of the recall and she would have to buy new tires. She did... Goodyear's
🙂
Told them.

Bought 4 firestone atx 235/75/15 back in 95. As of Aug 16, 2000 I had 3 left (extended from Road HAzard warranty). I was on the initial waiting list but decided not to wait, not b/c of fear of tire defect, but rather the wear and tear of about 60K miles on the tires. I am now waiting to be reimbursed for my new tires. I did have one firestone blowout on the FRWY.(it had over 50,000 miles on it though.
