nobody who bought a ps3 knows how it is, they are all on ebay

i hope ebay scalpers get struck by lightening, and i hope sony gets sued senseless for causing this mess.

You can't blame somebody for making money... that's how this country works. We have the freedom to sell something for any price, and if somebody else wants to buy it then it's their freedom to do so.

And you can't sue somebody over something that isn't illegal. It isn't Sony charging $5000 for a ps3, and they signed no contract saying they'd have millions of units ready on release.

i have the freedom for thinking people are tards too, to say the country is a free market isn't exactly true either there are many programs/laws that violate free market ethics for social well being. you can't sell your kidney to anyone can you? but isnt the US a free market? waaaaah waaaaah.

sony's launching with an extremely limited number of units was negligent and has led to people being shot, beatup etc.
don't get me wrong its not just sony's fault, stores like bestbuy, cc should have done a lottery type system. people aren't beating people up and shooting one another for a chance to play the ps3, they are looking at it as a source for an easy 1500 dollars, this will naturally prey on those who are not financially well off.

its resulted in a public nuisance and yes that can be illegal and people can be fined / seek damages for it.
 
I got mine today at my local Gamestop.

When i waited on line for the pre-order, i was third in line.

Lo and behold, the store only got TWO 60GB models, so I'm stuck with a 20GB model (which will still rake in a nice profit anyway). I also bought an extra controller and Resistance: Fall of Man.

I figured it was worth getting the 20 and selling now rather than wait for the next 60, which might not come for a while

While I'm not happy that Sony made so few units its not their fault that Americans are fvcked up and willing to inflict pain on each other for silly reasons.

Bringing a lawsuit against them is akin to suing gun or beer makers for the problems their products cause.
Its not right or just and I dont want that kind of law in my land.
So far, most judges in America agree with me, but that may change someday.

the problem is that sony wants crazy launch days, they want people to say "if its worth shooting someone over, then i gotta have one" this craze carries over into the regular production and supply later in the year.
there needs to be some sort of deterrence to this type of action when it results in people getting hurt.

i also don't think that individuals should win suits against sony, but cities where problems occured should have suits to recoup police time, medical costs etc.

they watched the ps2 launch, the 360 launch, ... and went ahead with a ps3 launch that had 1/3 the supply numbers of either of the 2 other mentioned launches without any planning. even the official sony ny launches were chaos.

and yes i have a degree in economics.

Had my PS3 since Web and i have been trying to install linux on it and have failed since then ;(

As for games :

Resistance fall of man : Great FPS with awesome weapon but nothing mind blowing.
Gundam Crossfire : People who love gundam anime series will love this game , the rest will hate it with passion. Takes over few hrs just to get use to gameplay ... very hard game to enjoy.
Untold legend : Alright RPG but still so bleak and dull. Hack and slash your way to victory.

Now anyone find a nice article on install linux on PS3 can you please PM it to me.

what kind of TV are you playing it on?

games come out in 720p no problem?
 
the thing is, there really is no killer app for PS3 like there is for Wii (Zelda) and that's the reason why im going to get a Wii

I am not sure Wii Zelda will be killer title for me anyways , I think Game cube version is much better.

Sony has never launched with a killer game.

they always make the big sales like a year or two after launch.

but yeah, this time around, nintendo has the better launch lineup by FAR

well seeing as the Gamecube version isnt even out yet no one can even comment on it anyways but the Wii has a lot of games that are exclusive which is always a good thing for a launch title. SUPER MONKEY BALL HERE WE COME!!!!!
 
I played NBA Live 07, and the graphics were ridiculous. The faces were so defined and detailed, and the bodies so generic and bloby. They looked mismatched and very stupid.

That's exactly my htought. EBay loosers will probably cash in ... but who on earth actually wants hte PS3 ye? I have no inteest in it till there is some killer app for it.
 
i plan on selling mine, but will definitely purchase one for myself when it comes down to about $200-300. by then, they should have all the hardware issues resolved, fully compatible with most ps1 and ps2 games, and a slew of great games.
 
I got a 20gb model today. I was the 16th preorder at gamestop. I showed up like 10 mins before store opened, called today hoping for anything and they told me they got a 20gb available and I took it and its on ebay right now.
 
I might have tried to get one eventually.

But the launch titles, and the ones I see on the upcoming list at EBGames just tell me I'd rather keep my PC and play PC games instead. I tried the XBOX 360, but I hate the controller, since I like fighting games ... I really miss the first version of the XBOX's controller (the bukly one that seemed to be hated mostly in Japan). So, yeah, for me it's the simple lack of games, none of them appeal to me.
