Who here got a Athlon XP to run fine on a Abit KT7A raid or Abit KT7A mobo on revision 1.0, 1.1 or 1.2? (I know they are not supported but i hear it still works). Also if you got it working fine please tell me what Abit mobo you have, the revision, the bios version you are using, and how long you have been running it for without any problems or stability issues?

No one in that post tried it. So that does not answer my queston at all. Many people at amdmb.com fourms tried it and said it worked fine. Wondering if anyone here tried it and it worked fine too ?

Thank you

As with anything, YMMV. Since the other forum had threads claiming that it worked, do you really need more "input" to justify your thoughts?

Hey, i dont know if this is any help at all, but i tried using a duron600@1gig on a kt7a raid and it was a no go. Everything worked fine, but everytime i tried to play a movie or game, the comp froze. And no, it wasnt the video card, i tried 3 diff. ones with it.

Thats overclockering really. Sure that 600mhz duron couldnt handle that stable. May needed a few more fans or cooling. Or it needed to be lowered to like 900 mhz or 900 something mhz to run stable maybe.
Not all 600mhz durons are going to run at 1 ghz but i have heard some that do. But you do have really good cooling sense you are almost overclocking it double the speed.
