Just out of curiosity, who goes to work just for more than the money? Anyone here that actually likes what they're doing and getting paid for it?

I have really been enjoying my recent project. It is my exact area of interest and an excellent chance to make a reputation at work doing what I want to do. I got very lucky to be in the right place at the right time and to have made my coworkers aware of my interests so I could capitalize on this opportunity. Needless to say, I am definitely looking forward to the next 6 months of continuing this project.

Not I. I don't hate it either though. Money is great though and that makes everything better. :)

I definitely like it. Tech support leads to some hilarious stories, I'm sure many of you know. And during the slow hours I get to focus on my studies, so I'm basically getting paid for something that I'd be doing anyway at home. So yes, it's a pretty sweet deal. :)

I might have to look into that.

sure. It's way better than my college job AND my first job right out of school (Dept. of Transportation)...

This thread sucks because hardly anyone mentions what they do for a living.

I love going to work because I'm unemployed. That is, I'd love to have a work to go to.

I love my job. There are days I don't want to go to work (cause I want to be lazy!), but there's really never any time that I just dread going to work.

After 26 years, I still enjoy going to work. I'm a paramedic/firefighter in a small-medium FD in a NW Indiana city. Something different every day, and they scenery is always changing....Getting kind of beat up physically, as i'm pushing 50y/o, and this is a young mans game. I can still outwork most of the snot-nosed-25 year olds ;) but man do I pay for it the next day....

Since 2002 my company has allowed me to work from home full time, so commuting and office politics is a thing of the past. I'm paid very well and enjoy my job.

My work consists of me traveling to other countries about half of the time (hopefully won't have to do that much anymore), so I do look forward to it. The pay is not bad either, so it's a win win. ;)

Its so so, not as fun as when I first started. I think the main problem is that I just dont want to work, I dont want to have to go anywhere unless I want to lol. If I won the lottery I would just do whatever I wanted, probably start a touring band for the hell of it.

I love what I do.

I couldn't think of anything more fun to do, honestly.

Of course there are always things about the job which have a negative effect on you, but such is life. I could think of MUCH worse fates.

As for those who say "it's called work for a reason", I find that's a cope-out and you just haven't found the right job for yourself. You CAN enjoy work if you find something that really interests you.

Note: I've been to jobs which I've ended up hating with a passion. Couldn't wait to leave.

Some people work to live and enjoy life.

Some people live to work and enjoy life working

Some people love what they do at work and enjoy life all around.
