10 miles one way
trek 7.5fx for my commute, specialized mountain bike for winter commute.
30 minutes when I haul, 40-45 when I take my time.
The worst part of my ride to work is the 8 hours I need to wait for my ride home.
I get cranky when I don't ride to work.

i bike almost everywhere in the summer. an old trek 800. Its about 1/2 mile to class in the morning, about a mile to work. takes about a minite to get to class, about 3 to get to work, but 5 or 6 to get home, i live in a big hill.
i usually feel better through out the day when i ride.

If so, what sort of bike do you have, how many miles is it, how long does it take you, how does it affect your overall day/mood?

Trek 7.3fx

10.9 miles each way

40 mins each way

I'm elated because I save $$ on gas, have lost 10 lbs in 3 weeks, and get to and from work in the same amount of time as I did in my car.

It does suck when it rains though, especially when pedaling into the 10-15 MPH wind that is perpetually blowing west to east along the Charles river (in Boston).

I bike to school, which is also work. Frame is Surly Cross Check, components are mostly Shimano + Suntour front derailleur, 20 miles each way, 75-90 minutes depending on winds/legs, makes me feel great. It wakes me up, gets blood through my body and brain. I'm pumped up when I get there, and I'm tired enough to relax when I get home.

I would bike, but I work in a professional office environment and I can't wear good clothes and bike to work, and I'd sweat unless I took it easy but I never do when biking.

i do. i ride a gary fisher marlin with road slicks instead of knobbies. it is about 2-3 miles each way. i try to ride slow in the morning so it takes around 15 minutes. i try not to work up a sweat going to work, but i try and haul ass on the way home. i feel great when i ride and "meh" when i don't. almost getting hit sucks though and can ruin your day; getting hit would ruin my day.

Question for those that do ride regularly, I assume your employer has some sort of showering facility?

Yeah. Most of us have our lockers and a quite large shower facility.

Trek 7.3FX hybrid thingy
4,967 miles - computer has been on since I got it

I walk to work, ~0.7 miles. I've unicycled a few times, too; it's a bit faster but saving on 12 minutes just isn't worth the funny looks sometimes.
