pretty standard around here. i think sometimes when people run out of sh1t to bitch about, they just pick a random subject out of the air and say "____ sucks" :D

I agree, third one was pathetic, one of the few movies I turned off half way through. Totally lame childish jokes that might have appealed to a 12 year old.

Dunno, never seen any of the austin powers movies. I think MM did a good job as the voice for shrek but thats about my only exposure to him. Unless you count the 15min of Waynes World 2 I actually saw.

Austin Powers is one of my favorite characters created in a comedy movie. I enjoyed part 2 and 3 a lot, and part 1 was just meh to me. But I saw part 2 before I saw part 1. I thoght 3 was hilarious as well.

90% of the people on these boards are nitpicking people who over-analyze any and every movie and will look for things to make a movie bad (like talk about character development in a summer movie called War of the Worlds). I go into a movie to be entertained, not to do an analyzis. I can enjoy many types of movies.

I'm betting the OP liked Napolean Dynamite and Harold and Kumar as well ...

Austin Powers is a hilarious character. if you can't see that, have a couple of beers so you can let your guard down, and then laugh at teh comedy.

I did, I tend to prefer goofy movies over melodramatic ones. IMO people who passionately hate Meyers, Schneider, Ferrel and the like take themselves way too seroiusly and are pretentious. Not that you have to like them :p

Nope, never understood the humor of Napolean Dynamite and Harold & Kumar was only mildly funny while under the influence (Did Neal Patrick Harris just steal my fvcking car...?). Also, I don't care a lick about character development or plot consistency in comedies like Austin Powers either, I just can't stand how his character is made out to be, it's just not my kind of comedy. He's loud and obnoxious to me which makes it just annoying and a trial to watch, I can't find something funny if I have to force myself to find humor in it, that's all.

OK, those who don't find MM or will Ferrel funny, what movies do you find funny?

I think they are awesome... I love will ferrel also.
You are all non-funny knowin' assclowns.

Edit: Mallrats is funny, but the jay and silent bob movie is mostly not funny. It's mostly dick and fart jokes. Not that I'm above a dick/fart joke, but they aren't good ones.

I enjoyed all three of the movies although as the serious progressed the awesomeness decreased successively.

i find adam sandler in movies even less funny... i find jim carey totally unfunny... he can't even tell jokes.

sandler is more funny than carey though when it comes to award shows... like mtv stuff.

I loved the first one, i was in seventh grade when it came out, but i still think it's hilarious and original(i never saw a character like austin before that movie) second and third were funny, only problem is they reused the exact same jokes, so it got old.
I mean come on, when when austin was driving hte little car in dr evils lair, and got stuck in the hallway going in reverse and forward and has like a inch of space, and he was actualy serious about it, LOL(i really laughed when i thought of that part, thanks for bringing this movie up!!). Oh, and when he's looking at the history on tape of what happend while he was frozen, the thing that was most important to him was "Yeah, and i cant belive Liberatchy(spelling???) was gay, women loved him."

I must agree about Jim Carey. I thought pet detective was the most horrible and stupid movie ever created when I tried to sit through it but left in the middle. I absolutely loathe that movie and I gave it a 1 on imdb.com. One of the worst movies I had ever seen. On the other hand, Truman show was a good movie, but he wasn't "trying too hard" to be funny there, so it worked out OK.

Also, Adam Sandler movies are cheap humor, but sometimes good IMO Happy Gilmore & Waterboy were great. Billy Madison wasn't bad. Mr. Deeds was crappy, I'll give you that. I haven't seen any of his others so I can't comment on them.
