The best names came from during the early 80's to early 90's during the hacking growth years.

Here is some from my rolodex I just pulled out of storage after 5 years. A short list and no way complete....

Ryan Keene - Fry Guy

Kevin Poulsen - Dark Dante

LoD:

Scott Chasin - Doc Holliday

Robert J. Riggs - The Prophet

Franklin E. Darden - The Leftist

Adam E. Grant - The Urvile

Chris Groggans - Eric Bloodaxe

Ken Shulman - Malefactor, Mentor, Jack the Ripper

----

Albert Li - Rogue Leader

Kevin Mitnick - The Condor, ShadowHawk

Hank the Hacker

'Dave'

Nilhilist Order: Highway Man, Sinbad, TRASk

MoD (about 1992, before their bust):

Julio Fernandez - Outlaw, Wing, Brest Tumor, Broken Leg, etc ... Bronx

John Lee - Corrupt ... Brooklyn

Mark Abene - Phiber Optik (the original of 'That's Incredible' and other TV show fame, who took the fall for this group) ... Queens

Elias Ladopoulos - Acid Phreak ... Queens

Paul Stira - Scorpion ... Queens

---

8LGM (8 Legged Groove Machine, because of their 4 members)

Gandalf the Grey

Paddy O'Noi

Power (Why For? ;))

Corrupt (left for MoD, the only Stateside member).

Most of these guys had a lot of fun on Altgiers, Lutzifer, and the like boards. Fortunately my brother and I discovered a 'bridge' in late 1980 that let all the hackers worldwide talk live. It was on this 'bridge' the MoD vs LoD/ComSec war began and ended with Phiber Optik's fuxored arrest. Those that knew then knew he was a scapegoat, joining the wrong group at the wrong time.

Now while many of the guys above are probably somewhere in Suburbia enjoying 6 figures + of income a year (a couple I know make that per month...I think Kimble does that, he got really involved in the whole net growth...check out kimble.org....I decided to 'do the right thing' and persue college. :(
