Who Has Seen The Movie "Better Luck Tomorrow"?

I just watched the movie for the first time.. and trying to figure out what some things meant.

1. What was the meaning of Stephanie's boyfriend talking about "Breaking the cycle"?

2. Why did Stephanie's boyfriend say "Steph's the one" to Ben when she was his girlfriend?

3. So why did Deric write an article about Ben and basketball? Ben asked that to Deric at the end of the movie.. and Deric looked all ... devastated.. I didn't get that part.

i think #3 was just because he's a bastard and the article benifited him as a writer.

saw it in the theater long ago, mem hazy

isn't there commentary? i still gotta rent the disc

1. I don't remember this part. It's been a while since I saw it. When does he say it and who does he say it to?

2. Steve said it because he was supposedly dating the white girl at his private school and Steph at the same time. Ben saw him with the white girl at the end of a decathlon meet and confronted him about it later. Steve said Steph was "the one" because she was chosen to save the human race...or maybe because he thought he liked her better.

3. Daric wrote the story so he could spice things up and gain some recognition as a journalist. It made Ben feel out of place and pissed at Daric. That's when they started doing the cheat sheets and stuff.

So many questions. Maybe you should watch it again. 1) The cycle of rich people owning??? dunno, why ask? 2) He was trying to distance Ben from steph, perhaps clearly understood that ben liked her and that he knew that ben knew he was cheating. 3) Deric was using a tool easily at his disposal to engage Ben.

That's my take.

I actually listened to the commentary. It was terrible. The directors just kinda talking about mistakes in the film... a lot of moments of silence... and more talk about.. off topic stuff...while the film kept playing. bad commentary.

Thanks, I totally missed the part that Steve was with some white girl.. It was really shown for only like 3 seconds... but that clarified everything... and I feel so bad for Steve still.
