Who has multiple phones or swap out phones on a regular basis ??

I'm officially addicted to smartphones.
I'm on T-mobile which makes it easy for me to swap out sim cards regularly.
I've been going back and forth between my Vibrant and IP4 the last couple of weeks.
The Vibrant was pretty much unusable until I installed a custom ROM on it.
I like the phone alot.
Still like the IP4 better because of battery life and the texting is better for me.
Had the G2 briefly but didn't like so I sold it off.
Still have my old trusty HD2 and I'm panning to install win7 to see what thats like.
I have the luxury of having a 5th line on T-mobile which I buy a phone and then pay the ETF fee.
So it doesn't cost me money to try out new phones on a regular basis.

I know alot of you have a work and personal phone.
Whats your preference.

I used to buy a new unlocked phone yearly when I was on T-Mobile. Now that I'm on Sprint I haven't done it yet since it's harder to do and you can only buy Sprint branded phones.

Load up gingerbread on your HD2, it's a much better phone than the Vibrant.

NookColor (rooted, Zeam)- Couch surfing

It's not too hard to swap an Android phone on Verizon but harder than swapping a sim card. We just call in and activate the new phone. The old phone just drops from the 3G network. The old (deactivated) phone still has full wifi access so you can use it as a mini-tablet. Since much of the data like contacts and calendar are cloud-based, it's the same on all phones under my gmail account.

If it weren't for Verizon's coverage this is honestly one of the main reasons I would switch. Especially for my job--would love to switch to cheapo phone on the job site and then throw the SIM into my Droid after the day is done.

Have two lines that I use currently. One is my personal phone which is a jailbroken iPhone 4, the work line is a HTC Surround (replaced a rooted Captivate with a 2.2 ROM). I work for AT&T so I frequently switch out work phones, usually about every 6 months or so. Personal line has been an iPhone since the 3G came about. Got one every launch day. Will be making the jump to the Atrix 4G when it comes out within the next month or so, very excited for that phone and even more for the laptop dock. Was looking at a laptop for school but since I'll only need it for word processing and web browsing, it seems like the perfect solution. I'll be seeing the phone sometime this week hopefully, I'll write a mini-review if I can.

I have way to many phones. Currently I use a Vibrant. But I also own an HD7, Mytouch Slide, Motorola Defy, Blackberry 8900, Iphone 3G, HTC Touchpro 2.


I don't switch out phones often though.

Currently in Sprint with an EVO, loved my HD2, but got no reception at work.

I have the HD2, a N1, G1, Droid, Incredible, iPhone 3G, iPad, nook color, need to sell some of them...

problem is i don't maintain two top notch cell phones. when i get two similar ones, i sell the other off.

so i only have my old Nokia N82 as my backup now.

You can't be serious.
The specs for the vibrant is better all around so how can the hd2 be better.
What are u running on the hd2 vs the vibrant that you can make.that statement?
I have both phones and Android on the hd2 is not better.
make me a believer.

I have a Storm 2 running a hybrid OS5 as my main device and a G1 running 2.2 which I use mostly as a glorified MiFi device with my Netbook.

If I had to list all the phones in my house we'd need to upgrade the vBulletin database first.

The Incredible/HTC EVO are up there when it comes to poor battery life. The worst battery life smartphone is I believe the Samsung Epic.

I used to, until I became familiar with the horrible experience of Android. I hated it so much from day 1, that I refused to buy one since.

Looks like times are changing, but I am more prone to going with a Windows 7 Phone nowadays.

Alot of us are working professionals.
I think of it as a hobby.
I used to by computer parts like crazy and then sell them off here.
I've just moved from computers to cell phones

The battery life on the Incredible is horrible. On it's best day (for me), it goes off charger at about 9am, and is down to 20% by maybe 5pm. This is with the 1500mah battery. It's worse with the stock battery. I see slightly better battery life on CM6.

The Droid X comes off charger before bed. Lets call that midnight. It makes it all the way through the next day until maybe 9-10pm with plenty of juice left.

Sadly, I think the Incredible is a better phone excluding battery life. The screen is fantastic, but smaller, which isn't always a bad thing. The Droid X screen just sucks, but it's huge. I also cant stand the physical buttons on the X. The X is just too freakin big. I currently carry the X much more than the Incredible. The huge screen and excellent battery life just make it a better overall phone.

The NookColor is quirky but awesome. Some things just run weird on it, but the screen is very good and the battery last for days. Couch surfing perfection!

Yeah, when I got the Vibrant on stock, it was horrible.
I was like how the hell do people survive with this phone ?
Once i got it rooted and with a custom ROM, I like it alot.
Its weird sometimes on idle, it will last a long time but then at times it will drain so fast.
I know there is a cuprit running in the background but I haven't bother finding out what it is.
I usually try to remmebered turning data,wifi,sync off when idling but thats a hassle.
