what do you want it to mean?

Mod need to explain rather than take a cheap shot while holding the power.

If he wants posters here then he needs to clam it shut and do his job as a mod rather than invoke his opinion and brush away posters.

But as we all know some mods won't ever adhere to anything but their own beliefs.

So now I have to walk on glass because this mod disagreed with me.

Mods are allowed to post as members without being called out on their mod status.

WTF?! Mods are forum members too. You won't last long here with that attitude. :colbert:

you need to check the rules and not assume that anyone cares about your unfounded butthurt.

I suspect your tenure here may be short-lived with this attitude.

If you were able to show up to work, you had the common cold not the flu.

Possibly, but it was a lot worse than any cold I had in years... Felt cold all night, couldn't sleep, non-stop coughing, always fatigued, and it took weeks to recover.

All my siblings have it, and parents too. None got the shot. I got the shot. A big birthday party late November and everyone came down with the flu within two weeks, except for me.
Mother had to be hospitalized.

You may get the flu if you got the shot, true, but your flu will be much less severe.
But what I believe can happen if you had the shot, and if you are exposed over and over, eventually your body wears down and you will get sick regardless.
But not as sick as those that did not get the shot.

The real secret for keeping safe is always to washing your hands.
Especially after shopping, or in public where you use door knobs, grocery carts, ATM key pads, anything commonly shared and used.

That's why it drives me crazy when restaurants "share" condiments between tables and customers. Who wants to use a ketchup bottle used by others? Totally disgusting.
Might as well share their dirty glasses, plates, and silverware.
Not much difference.

All it takes is one little germ.

Eh, maybe- or the other argument is that the immune system is stronger by not sterilizing everything...Luckily (I think- for my own sanity), I'm not at all concerned with germs in the situations you mentioned above, and rarely get sick.

I think some of it is just biological...seems some people always get sick, and some almost never do. I remember a thread here a while ago where the OP was freaking out that the sandwich maker at Subway was touching his waist/belt while making a sandwich, and said that's where you pull your pants up after taking a dump...it's a slippery slope worrying about germs and who touched what when and what's being transmitted etc. Could start seeing everything as a germ infested petri dish (which I know, most everything is).

I'll keep washing my hands and wiping rhe shopping carts with the lysol wipes

But then the first thing you grab from the shelf was touched by the stocking dude who didn't wash his hands after taking a shit...

I just don't worry about any of it, but do try to wash my hands before eating pizza etc - I do agree general hygiene is smart, but obsessing over it would drive me crazy at least

Very few infectious germs could survive more than a few minutes on a dry plastic ketchup bottle.

I got (verified Influenza A) back in 2009, and then Swine flu when it hit in Fall 2010. Been getting flu shot since then and no full blown flu. Last year I'm sure I had a baseline flu, but the shot suppressed it from going all the way.

After this year, my employer requires it. No shot. No work.

No flu shot, got something that ive been battling almost a month. Pretty much gone now. The dry coughing was the worst part of it. One day was very achy and clammy. Lots of runny/stuffy/sore throat and nose.
