Yeah, us here in Alaska are pretty far north. But Antarctica is the other end of the earth, and entirely different from the Arctic.
Antarctica is a fixed landmass; whereas the ultimate north is open ocean. (Frozen in winter, obviously.. but there is no land.)
Antarctica has penguins; we have polar bears.
Antarctica is far colder than comparable latitudes up north.
I personally think Antarctica is extremely fascinating, and one day I will set foot at the South Pole. Unfortunately the expeditions to the pole are currently priced out at $32,000 and that's leaving from Christchurch, NZ.
