Who has been the "greatest" President of the U.S.

Seriously.

All the recent candidates have either become infamous because of scandal or irreversable decision-making, for better or worse. That said, they have done nothing truly beautiful that the world will remember for decades to come. The only possibility is Jimmy Carter for his work with Habitat with Humanity, but I am restricting the scope of this discussion to works done in office.

The only reason that I mention Roosevelt is because of the new deal.

Obviously their position is quite restrictive in nature so most of their actions are minute in scale, but even then the exceptions are few an far between.

Either that or I missed something...😛

the word you're looking for is greatest.

one syllable = est/er
two = est/er, most/more
three or more = most/more exclusively

this is the spelling/grammar forum, right?

Perhaps Nixon. He did manage to end the Vietnam war.

yeah... he heard charlie had a preset kill limit, so he sent wave after wave of his own men to be slaughtered until that limit was reached.

James Polk. Doubled the country's land mass, kicked the Mexicans back to Mexico City - all in one term.

the New Deal didnt bring us out of depression....the war did

Aye, but it gave infrastrcuture a starting point....

The Social Security system that about to go bust came from the New Deal. LBJ expanded on the new deal with "the great society".

I think the govt power is a little bit overexteneded by these 2 presidents. now you have people crying for govt help for anything.
