You do realize that the number of math errors due to the 16bit space would be ginormous, right? With all the texture passes they're doing at lower quality modes(and I'm not counting shading, which requires 32bit mode), 16bit math would cause a lot of things not to look right due to the math errors from a lack of precision.

don't really care if it makes it fast and smooth. people with really old cards just care that it runs esp when playing online games like cs source. and seriously, its not that bad, games like call of duty united offensive still look decent in 16 bit mode.
game is still fun no matter how ugly i make it. a big difference between this and doom 3 which just blew.
