Who has been consumed by HL2?

Waited till 12 am pst last night to play and didnt go to bed till 2 am. Today I had an important test in philosophy at 8am which I more then likely failed. Have about 2 essays due tommorow that I havent even started on. I should of resisted the temptation to play

Imo you are an idiot if you skip Hl2. It's simply the best game ever made so far, and i've tried a few. The graphics are amazing, the story is fantastic! And then you choose to play Halo2 over it? ON A BLOODY CONSOLE???

Have you played the origanal Tribes games? How bouts FarCry or System Shock 2? Those were my greats... I won't buy HL2 just to play single player. I don't like CS (no jetpacks = tehsuck), nor do I like DOD. I am not an idiot, it is just that another one of the norm gets boring.

I played Halo 2 for a couple of hours on Xbox Live with three good friends, and it was an absolute blast. The voice chat and online play beats the hell out of being hunched over my desk in isolation for hours.

I haven't played HL2 yet, but I highly doubt there's anything in the single player anywhere near as satisfying as jacking another players vehicle, and then running him over with it!

Like I said, I'm sure I'll check out HL2 eventually. It's just that I have other games to play now.

This coming from someone who was consumed by the original HL and all the expansion packs...but that was back in the day when HL "was it." I.E. there really wasn't much other cool stuff out. Except for DeusEX. I lovd that game!

I'm sure HL is very nice...but is it like Doom3? Lots of eye candy but 1/2 way thru you say "Man...this is pretty fcking repetitive!"?
