as for the monitor itself...i dunno. i use a MAG CRT at work...not fortunate enough to have an LCD...tho the damn sales people do
972PF is the MAG product #.
986N is the MAG "model number" - what it uses to determine the driver.
But spec-wise, it is identical to the Proview PS920Fs - the "pure flat" one.
Maybe they resurrected the old design for a limited time.
Anyways, it's not as bad now as it was when I first got it. "warm-up" and all that. :|
And after I tuned the color, I suppose it's acceptable to my eyes. Still has some out-of-focus patches, and the colors on my brother's 2 year old NEC MultiSync 75 beats it. But I think I will stick with this, it'll motivate me to upgrade to LCD much more faster.
BTW the "manufacture date" on the monitor's ass says "July 2004". so its definitely a new one.
But I'm certainly not recommending this monitor or brand to anyone else, unless they're blind.
BTW #2: if you're handling all the RMAs now, maybe we should PM you before we throw our dead monitor at you, so you can give us "priority service"... and it wouldn't hurt to send us the wrong model monitor back as replacement... wrong as in a better model
