2012 is shaping up to be a great year. just paid off my car. with my tax return and money from contract assignment, i am finally going to be free of all debt. take that bitches. paid off almost 24k in debt in two months. eight years carrying this burden on me, but i can finally see the light! yay, me

Still waiting on some of the necessary information to complete tax return.

Plus, this is the first year I've been married or a home owner so it is a bit confusing.

i take pride in paying as little to my debts as possible.

if I can bring all these debts into the grave, i will die very happy. yea, that's pretty much the goal in my life.

Shens on the 24K debt in two months.

Given that you hardly worked last year per your posts; getting a refund back of more than a couple K is stretching it.

If the debt was paid, you had external help

don't need full time work when i can do contracts that pay more than your yearly salary. <------ niche IT skillz

It's prepared, I just haven't looked over it before hitting submit. I believe as long as I do it before friday I'll get it back in the same timeframe anyway so there's no reason to hurry.

Even worse, you are married to a home owner 😛

SandEagle is full of shit. Everything he posts is designed to get a rise out of ATOT in some manner.

I will have 3 W2's this time around 🙁

Only have received 1 of the 3 so far.

Sucks changing jobs twice in the same year when it comes to things like taxes but big picture wise it was the right choice each time.

Waiting on my appropriate tax documents so I can send them off for someone else to worry about. I'm assuming ~$5k back, so I can't wait to get them all together.

I will have 2 W2's, plus the 1099G from unemployment, 2 1098E's for student loan interest, and my tuition expense from this year. I am sending it all to get done by a professional...

Anyone that has the brains to make it through at least one year of college; should be able to do their own taxes using tax S/W🙄

Most professionals use the same tax engines and charge you for the favor 🙁

I made about $50K more than I expected this year. No refund for me, I think I'm going to owe a lot 🙁.

I'm waiting for Interactive Brokers to post their Schedule D worksheet. I don't want to figure that out myself. But no refund for me... probably owe about $1000.

Why do people enjoy giving the goverment a free loan? It's your money, adjust your withholdings such that you only overpay a little bit. i do the same thing, but for different reasons:

Side consulting business (that is a sole proprietorship) + etsy/ebay/dividend income that I pay income tax out of my main job and my wifes tax refund each year. Claim married, withhold at higher rate, 0 exemptions - it comes out to be a wash.
