I like the McIntosh, Lemon Zest, Mistletoe, and Raspberry Chuttny ones the best from Yankee candles. A lot of the cheaper ones all small way to strong and all smell bad.

Anyone else know of some good brands or scents to check out?

They may have even discontinued some of the ones I like...

Like blueberry blue ones, or like ocean breeze or something?

I like candles too, but not the girly floral ones. There's a candle store near here that has a "vanilla poundcake" scent that's nice.

i dont like the smoke they emit, it'll stain your ceiling/walls eventually.
i know there is smokeless type, but it costs more or something

The glade scented oil candles are nice. No smoke, no waste.

I like the spiced vanilla rose scent.

I like yankee buttercream except I always think there are pastries being cooked.

(Checks the label) My wife has a "Pomegranate Cider", which isn't bad. The "Gingerbread" is a little overpowering, while the "Christmas Cookie" suggests the baked goods our kitchen never sees :)

I get headaches/nauseous if I try to go into any candle store with my wife. I usually just loiter outside while she shops.

How are candles metrosexual?

Some people like there home to not remind them of a college frat house after a keg party. .

On that note I can't justify $10+ for a candle so I rarely use/purchase them.

i'll bet yankee candle customers are 99% women.

I bet your right......still don't see how this fits the metro sexual mold. A metrosexual is a hetero man that embraces the homosexual lifestyle. Homosexuals are still technically men so if 99% of women are buying the candles then that just disproves your statement.

But I digress....I can't tell you how many times ladies have been impressed by me having a single candle lit in the house when they come over. 99% of the candles I've ever had were given to me by a woman.

No, a metrosexual is a hetero man with some female attributes/sensitivities.
