I suck at them and I don't have the patience to keep playing them to keep better. Ever ything seems to drawn out--it takes forever. I do have C&C Generals to mess with every once in a while. I'll play it twice a year, and get a level further into the game. I sure hope it doesn't have a story line. 😱

The problem with RTS games is basically: Who ever knows all the hotkeys and can press a mouse faster than you, will win. It shouldn't be called RTS anymore because there is no strategy, unless you count strategy as a sequence of hotkeys pressed and whoever can push them faster wins.

That and the fact that so many RTS players online are Korean hermits who do nothing BUT play these games. So you take a genre where hotkeys and intensity and studying and repeating techniques are paths to success and combine it with people who seem to have an over abundance of time and interest and you have pwnage.

I'm uhhh decent at some RTS games, the fact you don't really control them beyond giving commands makes them more difficult for me. I like FPS's because I have total control. I was playing this kid C&C 2 at an internet cafe, thought I was doing gooood. Didn't know you could send your trucks that collect the stuff that gives you money to plants outside of your base. I basically was building up a elite bad ass army to attack him base and blow him to bits. I had about 10 tanks and 10 humvees and about 100 soldiers. I was almost ready to dominate when I hear "Nuclear missile Launch Detected" Needless to say I ended up dying without killing a single unit of his. Once I learned about collecting the money from different spots on the map I did ok.

RTS's require a lot of brains and something I suck at which is think ahead. I like FPS "shoot whatever's in front of you" much easier for me 🙂

If you've seen any SC videos of some of the top players, you can see them "warm up" by practicing their micro and hotkey skills during the slower building phase at the beginning 😀

Hahah 10 tanks and 10 humvees is nothing near a bad ass force. 😉

I usually lose against random people online. But I enjoy playing with friends who are also not that good.
I don't think I've ever actually completed any RTS single player campaign. Like in WC3 I think I got to the third race, and ended up getting stuck on a level, and eventually looked up cheats to finish the story.
