Who else loves Linkin Park?

What is with people comparing every band to each other? I don't think LP sounds anything like korn or Limp.. Korn is cool but they're kind of heavy.. Limp is freaking wack. Idiot half wannabe rapper with a huge ego and stupid songs.

I like LP's lyrics and the music, and the guy has an awesome voice..

anyway. you suck 🙂
 
My favorite ska band is the mighty mighty bosstones.
I also like linkin park. But my favorite is Incubus, 311, and Tool
 
And has anybody else noticed that linkin park never swears? They may have some "hate lyrics", but they don't have many in the first place, and they never swear once on their album.

Good observation, I didn't notice that actually. I definitely like their music and lyrics though.

How many Linkin Park songs have you listened to? And watching it on a Music Video does NOT count. Music videos suck anyway, you pay attention to the video and not the audio, enough so at least. It's about the music and the meaning of the lyrics. Sure they can help express themselves through music videos, but it diminishes the viewers ability to really let the music sink in.

You should listen to "Papercut". I love the music in that song and I think it's very good overall. Also, pleeeeeease, do not compare Linkin Park with Limp Bizkit and Korn! These three bands are so drastically different. Name me one song from each band that is very similar? Of course, you can't, because there are not any!

It was the first time I had heard any form of Ska before. Interesting and fun! Good choice on mentioning Incubus, they're another band I think has a shietload of talent and originality. I can't think of any band that resembles Incubus in the least bit. You should listen to the not-so-overplayed songs of theirs like Vitamin and perhaps Stellar. Very cool. My favorite from Incubus would have to be New Skin .. Pardon Me and Drive are being killed on the radio, but they're still good songs.

311.. I know about them too, but again I haven't heard much or any of their music. I'll add them to the get-to-listen list. 😉

Which two songs have you heard may I ask? If you haven't heard them already, like I said listen to Papercut, Crawling, Pushing Me Away, One Step Closer, In The End, etc.. i love those songs!

I love that Linkin Park CD, but I've outplayed it. I need to take a break from it for a while. I've actually made myself sick of it, kind of like eating too much chocolate. 🙂
 
If you want to hear punk rock, try bad religion, Minor threat, or operation ivy. If you want something newer, there's pennywise, NOFX, strung out, good riddance.

There's a lot of good punk bands around, but VERY little of it actually gets played on the radio.

As far as Linkin Park is concerned, they're not bad, but they're not really punk.
 
See the radio took Crawling and One Step Closer and overplayed them.. they're good songs.. however I usually pass them when I'm listening to the CD now cause I'm sick of hearing it.. but it doesn't mean they suck.. They have their own sound and own mood I think.

Anyway, every song on the CD is good.. I think track 11 has a dumb beginning but the music is cool once you pass that..

anyway, when did blink get unclassified as punk? before they got big a lot of people liked them and now that they're all big they're not punk anymore? they still play the same power chords like every punk band does and they havent changed (except they got crappier).

there isnt only one 'genre' of punk. theres hardcore, poppy punk, ska, emo, blah blah blah but most come from the same punk influences (ramones is one example)

anyway, blink 182 sucks now, so does NFG but they're still (pop) punk... i used to like sum 41 (do they play the same video on mtv that they made a while back where they shoot people with water guns and all that?)

but whatever, im not &quot;punk&quot;, im nothing im just myself and i love the music (and express myself in my music)... (but then i guess that makes me punk? 😛)

yea.. if you like linkin park, you should download Thrice songs (www.thrice.net), they're about 20 bajillion times better (imo anyway)... get T&amp;C (like the video game 🙂), Identity Crisis, Phoenix Ignition, Torch to end all Torches.. those are my favs

I love their entire cd, it is probably one of the only cds that I have ever listened to and enjoyed the whole thing. Linkin Park rules
 
I'm not into Linkin Park's music, but I don't diss them (I live in America and love Oasis so you can see the sh!t i get).

Anyway, I've heard a couple of their songs and they sound pretty genuine. The craftwork of their music seems to be well done. Again, it's just a preference thing that I'm not a fan, I do give them credit. That whole &quot;no cussing&quot; on there songs thing is a plus. You don't have to cuss to convey emotion. hehe sometimes cussing just works for a song though.
 
heh, they facking rock. Always wanted to say that. Anyways, LP is my fav band. Been to two concerts, signed CD, the whole works. Its just really original, although a lot of people seem to disagree on that. Its got elements of rap, rock, electronica etc...just good to listen to, and fun to bang your head to. Too bad they released crawling, because it was IMO the worst song on the album, in other words, good not great. But what was said before is true, that theres not one bad song on the album. Its really the only album I have that I can say that about. &quot;A place for my head&quot;, now that'll get your blood rushing. Hell, I even got my dave matthews band loving roomate listening to LP now. Its too bad theyre overseas on tour with the deftones and taproot now, because if the deftones were playing, I'd be down to see em again. They played with taproot and alien ant farm last time. Taproot also facking rocks, and the singer is insane, jumping off the balcony in roseland. Alien ant farm though...lets just say they got less than a warm recpetion.

 
yeah a place for my head is fvcking awesome!!! so is forgotten the one right after a place for my head. linkin park definately is the best sounding music, and most original that I have heard in a long time
 
Forgotten was actually the best song they played in concert. When the singer is standing on the edge of the balcony 15 feet up and the rapper is on the stage, it gives a whole new meaning for &quot;from the top to the bottom&quot;. Too bad he didnt jump off.
 
I don't think Linkin Park is Punk. But I agree that they kick ass. I saw them when they weren't popular. They are very nice to all of their fans. They signed my ticket and my shirt.

EDIT: Hey Purplecow why is your PM off? I was gonna send you some. Oh well how much do you know about linkin park? did you know they used to be called Hybrid Theory? Do you have some of their songs from when they were Hybrid Theory? In one of them they do cuss BTW. If you PM me I'll tell you more
 
Hehe yeah I saw them when they opened for POD and HeD PE a few months ago, only I was the only person who actually had the CD at that point. Everyone seemed to know the lyrics though (hehe, god bless napster), and it was pretty cool when he shouted me out onstage for being the only person there who actually had the cd when every openeing artist gives the mandatory &quot;buy our cd&quot; plug. Even when they were headlining, they stayed as long as it took to sign anything for anyone. Of course that came at the cost of encores. Bleh.
 
yeah papercut is pretty cool. and I remember being the only one with their cd too, when my friends heard it they were like woah they are pretty cool, and then they went and bought the cd too. my favorite one of their songs is a place for my head, well at least right now it is but all of their songs are cool, I really like in the end too
