I have to work today, not tomorrow though.

One day off is lame. You can't really do anything because you have to get up early the next day..

I'm 'working' today.

'Working' meaning my physical body is at the location of my job. Until noon probably.

I had to take this week off because otherwise, another 40 hours of vacation would've been lost. We can only carry over 80 hours so I'm already losing 80 :(

Working now, financial institutions aren't allowed to close more than 3 consecutive days. There still is accounting to be done, yawn.

I'm working 10 hours today and 10 hours tomorrow. Xmas is just another day. My family is 3800 miles away and every last friend I have, has left town because unlike me, they all are allowed to take vacation during Xmas.

I'm literally spending Xmas all by myself so I couldn't care less that I'm working the holiday. It would be nice if I had somewhere to go for dinner though instead of sitting at home by myself after work like a sad sack of shit. grrr.

Not I.

This is the first job I've had, since college, where I get the holiday off on the actual day. I also had today off.

What is this "work" of which so many speak?
Dec. 15th was the last day of the semester, and school doesn't resume till Jan. 7th, so I'm kicking back enjoying some time off...

However, in the past, I've worked every major US holiday there is at least once...Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Year's Day, Labor Day, July 4th, etc.

Double time, or double and a half helps make up for the time away from my family and the "Ambitious Boy" recliner...:D

I have server maintenance to do tomorrow at some point. I really don't have it too high on my priority list since no one's in today or tomorrow, and just a skeleton crew on wednesday. I can do it remotely, but if things break I'll probably have to get up early and come in wednesday for a few hours.

Nope. Currently unemployed, but two years back when I had to, it was the most depressing shit ever. It was especially bad cause these were the two days when the "church youth groups" would come in to "volunteer" (most of them looked more anti-Christ than people I see in bumtown).

Working tonight, 8-8. Worked the Saturday night shift, so I didn't have to work the Christmas night shift. Once I'm finished in the morning, I don't go back to work until Jan 3rd during the day. Ahh, the confusing joys of 12 hour rotating shifts.

Working 12pm to 2AM this evening, its the only day we don't do business so we've gotta get our patches in now. Gotta drive 5 hours after this too :(

I worked today and I'm off tomorrow. The only thing that justifies the hell of retail is a nice fat commission check!
