For work or play?

At home I own roughly 1TB of SSDs split between my main rig/laptop/sitting on my desk/etc. But only a 128 840pro boot and 256 840pro game drive with regular HDDs for bulk. I've thought about getting more for games but really... at this point meh.

At work we have a data acquisition system 6 512GB 840pros in it. Far far far beyond normal usage on that ah heck though. All to save 4 minutes of transfer times...

The last SAN I worked on had 48 Intel SLC 256GB SSD's in it. Those things cost a pretty penny, but was fast.

:O

48!?!?!?!?!?

i have 1... and not even a 256meg version...

<3 X-25E all hail SLC!!!

1.1 TB of ultra fast SSD space ... loving it.

But fast SSD space spawns other questions like, if i am not waiting on cpu ram or hdd then why am I still waiting a second here, half a second there.. Going all SSD really makes you want *realtime* responsiveness, all the time, from your system.

3x250GB RAID0 Array - Samsung Evo SSD
4x80GB RAID0 Array - Intel X25-M
1x256GB Samsung 830
1x256GB Crucial M4
1x64GB Samsung 830
1x64GB A-DATA
1x64GB G.Skill

Total Space Owned 1,774GB

2 decent 120/128s in sata raid0 6.0 is all most will ever need. I like Samsung 840 Pros or 2 2x Ocz vectors. As good as it gets til SF launches the SF-3000s

1x 120GB Vertex 2
1x 1TB Samsung Spinpoint F3

Vertex = 26.5GB free of 111GB
Samsung = 912GB free of 931GB

Had this setup for about 4 years now.

256 + 256 + 120 + 120 + 80 = 832 GB. Not quite there yet. I'm sure my next SSD purchase will push me over.

All I have is a 128GB Corsair Neutron SSD and 0.024PB of storage in my system.

God I feel so inadequate 🙂
