Who else is alone for Christmas?

I moved from Northern California to Washington a few months ago while my family moved to Arkansas. All my good friends are in NorCal and my family's now in Little Rock. I have Christmas day off but not enough time to travel anywhere (and I really couldn't afford it anyway). Decided against getting a Christmas tree because it seemed overly expensive for what it's worth.

It's interesting; I read what I just wrote and it definitely has the look of a pity party. It's not though, even though there are some tinges of "geez, alone on Christmas". I'm kinda looking forward to sleeping in, and I'll go to a few different Christmas services, which I know I'll enjoy.

Anybody else off on their own this Christmas?

I don't think you'll be alone anymore... hundreds of nerds will show up on your doorstep Christmas day to keep you company.

My roommate told me (and the ultimate determination was that she lied about this for some twisted purposes of her own) that three stoned guys from the net showed up on our doorstep looking for me. Needless to say, (mostly because of the roommate) I've moved since then.

I am.

I work 12am-9am on Christmas now. My boss gave himself the day off, so two of us have to work extra hours.

It's not nearly as bad as it sounds. I would rather be spending this Christmas alone than with family, since the person I WANT to spend Christmas with is thousands of miles away right now. :(

I had the same thing happen when I first moved to Seattle, as the relatives I had in the city were going to be elsewhere on Christmas. I watched some Christmas movies, opened presents, etc., and there were several churches in the immediate area if one wanted to attend a Christmas Eve service or something along those lines. It was actually very relaxing. :)

Jeez, fine. You can come over for Christmas. I hate when you do this in public.

Don't feel too bad. I have to work both days and I do have family to spend Christmas with. So... having a day to yourself may not be such a bad thing.

You realize that looks completely random to people who have no idea that I'm an Anglican-turned-Baptist-attender, right? :p

It was a cheesy pick-up line. So cheesy in fact, you didn't pick up on it. Yes, double pun was intended.
