the tax value of my property got jacked by about $20000. pretty big deal, considering we paid $65000

Here in louisville KY a nice lot will run you 80-110K for about an acre.

our lot size is 40' by 120' (aka zero lot line - the houses are about 15' apart)...even though a bigger yard would have been nice, being closer to work was more important for us...we could have easily gotten a larger house for cheaper price, but the commute would have been over an hour each way...we are very happy with the choice we made...

they assess every year here. its up 25k in two years...thats an extra $60 in property taxes.

we bought at $600K in 2001, house across the street which is smaller than ours in every aspect sold for $1.3million one month ago
