Who else had to drink to watch the State of the Union Address?

Apparently our Supreme Court Justices:D
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/02/13/ruth-bader-ginsburg-state-of-the-union_n_6677860.html

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said Thursday night that she wasn't "100 percent sober" when she nodded off "as I often do" during President Barack Obama's State of the Union address in January.

Can't say that I blame her but really, nodding off during the speech is one thing, coming out later and admitting you were not "100% sober" is just not becoming of the position...now do we have to wonder if she drinks before hearing a case?

She drank some wine with dinner. It's not like she was hitting a flask in the audience.

Having some wine with dinner is enough to get some people a DUI:colbert:

Do you really think it's appropriate for a Supreme Court Justice to be drinking before work? Unless you want to say attending the SOTU address is not part of her work obligations?

I will attempt to muster up some outrage, just for you.

It isn't, she doesn't have to attend. I believe other justices in the past have not. Do you have any evidence she drove herself after drinking the wine? If not than your DUI argument is just a strawman.

Hey, if I had to listen to that idiot for an hour or two, I'd probably make sure I had a few drinks beforehand as well!

LOL...your panties in a bunch over this? Who said she drove? Mentioning a DUI was just to point out that "having some wine with dinner" can mean a lot of things, among them not being sober. And whether it is 100% required or not, she was there in her robes as a Supreme Court Justice at some level of intoxication which is unbecoming of her post:colbert:

I don't really care all that much, if anything a little jealous that I can't get away with it myself, there's a lot of meetings I go to that having a drink beforehand would help with:\

I heard the whole hand shaking thing on his way in is just Obama handing out dime bags of coke to keep everyone awake.

Big deal. State of the Union was late in the evening after dinner, so half of america probably had some alcohol in them. I don't see why you have to be 100% sober to sit in an audience and listen to the pres read his script.

Too late, I just punched my boss in the face. I expect security to be here any moment. :\

Damn it...I knew my posting here would cause a problem at work, always thought it would be at mine though:D

Yep...I actually like her more now, takes a pair to admit that and makes her more "normal" to me
Corwin does.
Uh huh...I've been entirely serious in all my responses about how big a deal it is...no I don't think it was entirely appropriate or becoming of her position and a lot of people will look down on her for it, I just wish I could get away with it at my work

I read some article wrote by one of her former interns that made her sound awesome. I have zero problems with people in power showing their human side. I wish it happened a lot more.

Obama with his selfie stick was one of those times as well.

Eh, I've watched every single SOTU address for the past fifteen years. After I was old enough to drink, it became much more enjoyable to watch.

Lets not kid ourselves. It doesn't matter who is in the White House on SOTU night. It matters what is in your glass.

I'll have to have a few drinks during the next state of the union. Sounds fun.

Yep.

I'm actually liking her a little bit better after that admission.

I for sure am and I'm sober and Republican!

I love people who don't take themselves seriously. Humility is a very admirable trait.
