I've tried smoking pot 3 times with a huge stoner friend of mine. He watched my technique and was certain that I should have been super high.

I felt maybe a minor buzz, approximately the same as smoking a hookah. My friend was completely baked and was surprised that I wasn't also.

I've wanted to try one more time since that was a few years ago, but I'm not even sure how I'd get some.

Also, smoking pretty much anything, including pot, can cause lung disease. I'm not sure why anyone would disagree with this. There are tons of studies demonstrating that smoking pot really isn't much healthier than smoking cigarettes. Yes, nobody chain smokes weed, but you're still damaging your lungs.

I'm not saying you should stop for this reason, but there's no point in denying it.

Medical marijuana is legal in CA. You'll only have a problem if you've been arrested by a federal agent, at which point pot possession is the least of your concerns.

It doesn't matter how you use it. If it was prescribed by a doctor for medical purposes, no matter how dubious, it's legal (edit: I did say use, and not sell; selling is illegal I believe)

Never smoked because I've always done something that would suffer. In high school I ran XC and rowed. In beginning of college I was in ROTC and was randomly drug tested. Now in later part of college I don't do it because I don't need to. My best friend does it and I've got no problem with people who smoke, I wish I had earlier in life cause it would have mellowed me out a lot sooner (the GF has that effect on me now). I just drink instead.
