I just found out the company that owns Whistler went bankrupt, a month before the olympics.... hahaha. Hopefully they lower lift tickets so I can go there more often.

You mean the summer olympics right? You do know that the events on cypriss mountain will have no snow, its sad, they are shipping in bales of hay to build runs from wood and hay, with whatever snow the machines can make ontop. This is going to be funny to watch, some guy wipes out and hay goes flying everywhere lol.

Ya the snow situation is pretty bad right now. Last year we had so much, this year nothing(not quite, but total opposite).

I do.

I know there is big money behind every sport and the Olympics are no different. These people however train like crazy for 15 seconds of fame and many of them will never see it. I think they are the most dedicated athletes there is.

Yep. I love the olympics, including the winter games.

The downhill skiing events are awesome, skating races, hockey, bob sled and luge...lots of great competition from all around the world.

It's the pacific northwest - you never know what's going to happen. Even a year like this year is not that unusual. There have been years that were much worse. They had to have known this when they chose Vancouver.

I've always had either school or a job to go to, so I'm not able to watch the olympics. It always seems to be on TV when Conan is supposed to be on.

Just about everyone. It's sports we don't watch for 206 weeks out of every four year period, WTF am I supposed to care for these two weeks?

It was a matter of national pride when there was a cold war going on. Now, not so much.

I've never really been into any Olympics much at all. None of the events are really that exciting to me. There are a few but most of them are just timed events where only one person is on at a time and none of those are fun.

As a general rule no I don't care for the Winter Olympics. The only thing I'm interested in will be the coverage of Vancouver. Every Olympics they do little vignettes on the city it's held in. Other than that there are a few events I'll glance at now and then like ski jumping.

I like winter olympics because the chance of total wipeout is greater.

I'll watch the World & European football championships, and the tennis majors, but that's about it for my sports care.

I like the winter olympics much more than the summer. I love me some olympic hockey, and maybe some skiing/snowboarding stuff if it happens to be on. There's really nothing in the summer games I care to watch.

I don't mind the actual sports so much. I can't stand the stupid human interest stories they throw at us. Like there's nothing interesting about the sport and the competitors so they're trying to make us want to root for some bozo who raises competitive turnips and takes care of his sick mother. The guys train for years and years to do their sport and that's all the network cares about? Barf.

The winter Olympics are going to interrupt the showing of LOST. For that reason alone I hate the olympics.
