Who does video editing for a living? What software do pros use? Is it fun, hard to find, side jobs?

I've started taking more videos of our travels, youtube, VR, my dog etc and enjoy editing it. I'm going to get a decent drone and do more editing. My job is good now but I don't want to do it full time anymore. Maybe if try to find a part time job I can start to get a feel for the pros, cons etc. What programs do the pros use. I started with windows movie maker, moved to sony vegas pro and am about to try final cut pro and premiere. I'd just like to get used to the GUI of the main programs that pros use. Thanks
